Today, we’re excited to get to know Virtuous Pie Portland General Manager, Sarah McConnel.

Sarah brings so much to our restaurant: her charm, experience, positivity, and extreme patience as a leader. In addition, a shift with Sarah is never dull. There are always theatrics, singing, and incredibly well-coordinated dance moves. Whether it’s a busy shift or a lighthearted story, Sarah always brings her all to the team. She is always thinking of the coworkers first and something fun to say second. The influence of her bright personality and booming laughter would be hard to miss and is appreciated by everyone on her team.

What’s your favourite pizza on the menu?  

My favourite thing on our menu is The Forager…who can resist wild mushrooms and pesto?! (Secret tip, add some confit garlic!)

Any other add-on hacks you can recommend to guests?  

I love dressing up the Mac and Cheese with Chili Broccoli and Blackened Chicken!   

What’s do you love to do when you’re not working at the restaurant?

Outside of the restaurant I love crafting, cooking, Road Trips, foraging for mushrooms in the woods, and True Crime. I make custom superhero capes, spoil my dog, and I’m an ordained minister in The Church of the Latter-Day Dude (and show up to ceremonies in full Dude Lebowski costume, rug included! It really ties the ceremony together.).

I started making custom superhero capes for kids (of all ages) a few years ago and it’s grown into a fun hobby that lets me feel all the good feels when I see people feeling powerful, imaginative, and free in the capes I create to let their inner superhero soar.
